Meet Jason Gordon, General Manager and Executive Chef

Jason, a Colorado native, found his passion for cooking and bringing people together very early in life as he watched his mother and grandmother preparing family meals. While he has had no formal culinary training, he began working in the hospitality industry at the age of 15 and has held practically every position available in restaurants, including dishwasher, line cook, kitchen manager, sous chef and chef de cuisine.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Finance and Real Estate from Colorado State University, Jason gravitated back to the field he knows and loves best. He was General Manager and Executive Chef at the Milk & Honey Bar in Denver from January 2014 to March of 2016. During his time there he was named to Fine Dining magazine’s Top 30 Chefs Under 30.

While on vacation visiting his family here in Florida that year, he decided to make the Sunshine State his home. In 2016, he took a post at Sunset Grill and Beach Bar in Ruskin, followed by a stint at The Brass Bowl here in St. Petersburg. He was named a top local chef of St. Petersburg in 2019 by LocalShops1 and Club Savor.

He came to The Big Catch at Salt Creek in February of 2020. Jason’s passion is centered on bringing great food and outstanding service to our customers, ensuring our employees are working as a team, and giving back to the community.
